Privacy Policy

Serendip helps you remember the people you meet in person. You choose what you share, who sees it, and how precise your location is. We don't sell your data or run ads. Questions: princes@serendip.land.

What we collect

• Account: your email and password.
• Profile (optional): name, avatar, phone, date of birth, sex, social links, and public notes — each with its own visibility setting.
• Your network: the people you connect with, the tags you make, and your private notes.
• Location: the name of your area at the precision you pick — country, region, or city. With Live area on, we process the city you're in to keep it current. We never collect raw GPS coordinates.
• Permissions: camera (QR codes, avatars), photos (avatars), location (area labels and Live area), and motion (shake to contact support).
• Basic logs and cache: minimal server logs for security and on-device cache for performance.

How we use it

Only to run the app: your profile, connections, map, search, and tags; to keep your area label current; to secure your account and prevent abuse; to answer support; and to meet legal obligations. Nothing else.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. We rely on a few processors under contract: Supabase (hosting, database, authentication), Stadia Maps (map tiles), and Geoapify (geocoding for Live area). We disclose data only when the law requires it.

Your controls and rights

Set profile visibility, location precision, Live area, Ghost mode, and your close circle in the app. View, edit, or delete your account anytime in the app — or email us. EEA/UK/Swiss residents can request access, correction, deletion, portability, or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. California residents have the same access and deletion rights; we don't sell or share personal information.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Deleting your account in the app removes your account and personal data; provider backups and caches clear on their own schedules. Notes other people wrote about you stay with their accounts.

Children

Serendip is for adults — 18 or older (or the minimum age where you live).
